Enterprise Venture Architect. Founder and CEO, FohBoh.ai. Former restaurant operator and investment banker.
Michael L. Atkinson is a strategist at the intersection of restaurant operations and enterprise technology. He opened his first restaurant, Bailywicks, in 1981, and went on to own and operate multiple restaurants across quick-service, fast-casual, and fine dining before spending years in investment banking and corporate finance, advising on more than 200 transactions across food, beverage, retail, and technology.
He later returned to operations as a CFO, including work with celebrity chef Michael Mina on the 1998 opening of Aqua at the Bellagio, before founding FohBoh.com — the restaurant industry’s original social-business network — in 2007. He has since built and led ventures spanning restaurant cloud technology, voice-activated inventory, and enterprise data governance.
Today, as founder and CEO of FohBoh.ai, Michael is building the certification infrastructure this book describes — designing and architecting the Metrics Governance Engine (MGE) himself, alongside FohBoh | Sentry™ and FohBoh | Cortex™, its first applications. He is also founder and CEO of Bailiwick Ventures, a venture and investment platform, and lives between Dallas and the restaurant floors he still knows best.
The certification infrastructure this book describes, shipping as deterministic, zero-inference enterprise software for the restaurant industry.
A venture and investment platform applying Michael’s Enterprise Venture Architecture process to new and client ventures.
An ongoing publication on enterprise AI, data governance, and operational trust, continuing the argument between chapters.
